Typewright attempted to transcribe MCALPIN but nothing else.

Also it appears to be impossible for Typewright to insert a line at the top or bottom of a page. Title pages in particular often seem to be missing their top lines of text, but it's also relevant in this circumstance.

First, apologies for the delayed response here. I'm happy to continue a conversation here in the forum or via email (technologies@18thconnect.org) should you have any other questions, concerns, or needs.

We recommend that, when handling library marks or handwritten annotations, our TypeWright users transcribe or correct any information that will be useful to them in future scholarly endeavors. Currently, we don't preserve these handwritten annotations when indexing the text for search (to improve discovery of early modern texts!), thought we are exploring methods of preserving handwritten annotations like our colleagues at Book Traces.

In EEBO documents in TypeWright, we have seen reports of issues adding lines above and below at the top and bottom of pages, respectively. We've created a tutorial on YouTube to propose solutions and workarounds for this issue as we seek a permanent solution to an issue caused by the state of the page images and OCR output.
